If you’re a big fan of listening to the latest hits on the radio, you’ve probably felt disappointment more than once when a station gradually drops your favourite songs from its repertoire. The whole point of playing music on the radio is to bring the latest records to your ears, so they can’t keep playing the same old songs over and over again. That’s why you end up buying the albums with your favourite songs on them, but what happens when the artist’s album doesn’t live up to their single you loved on the radio?
It happens to us all – you hear a song you adore on the radio, assume all of the artist’s tracks are as good as that song, buy the album and find that it’s a complete let down and you don’t like it at all. Not only is this a total waste of money, but the disappointment of the CD can even taint your enjoyment of the original song. So instead of buying artists’ albums, we just put up with the song disappearing into the radio ether and eventually forget about it.
If you love music and want a bit of variation, you may want to turn to compilation albums. Compilation CDs collate all of the top hits of a certain period and put them all on the same disc for you to enjoy over and over again. All the tracks are usually top radio hits and you can be sure that many of your favourites will be there. It’s pretty much like listening to the radio but without the chatter and adverts in between songs – making it ideal!
